Travel Grieving

It's partly about the open road.

It's partly about seeking healing in nature.

It's partly about getting out of the home environment; stepping away from constant reminders like his recliner, his toothbrush, his half of the closet.

It's partly about "Go outside and start walking."

It's partly about escaping from cold Wisconsin winters.

It's partly about going places you know he wanted to go.

It's partly about finding your smile.

It's partly about fishing still waters.

It's partly about learning to make decisions for yourself. Hating it. Loving it. Coming to terms with the fact that you hate it or love it.

It's partly about a fortune cookie.

It's partly about identifying too much with that painting at your therapist's office.

It's partly about not being emotionally ready to sort through everything back home.

It's partly about the Yankee hat.

It's partly about everyone telling you it's healthy to do something for yourself.

Giving Tree

It's partly about fulfilling life goals.

Found tucked inside my journal from the early 90's.

It's partly about "I'm lonely at home, so I may as well be lonely on the road".

It's partly about "Enough lonely! Go be with friends who never let you feel alone."

It's partly about traveling to something you can't see at home.

.

It's partly about traveling to people who make you laugh.

It's partly about sunsets.

It's partly about waters.

It's partly about bringing back mementos to lay at his grave.

Whatever your reasons...

Sojourn on!
